Providing experiential training support for students in the health professions.
The Southern Arizona Area Health Education Center and its teaching partner, El Rio Health Center, facilitate experiential learning opportunities for student trainees in a variety of health professions. Our priority is to strengthen and diversify Arizona’s health professions workforce to increase healthcare access for rural and medically underserved communities in Pima, Cochise and Santa Cruz counties.
Rotation placements are dependent on the availability of preceptors and are often competitive. Priority is given to student trainees interested in doing their clinical rotations at a rural site. Those students will also be given priority for any financial/housing assistance we may have available.
Filling out the inquiry form does not guarantee a rotation at El Rio or at the rural health partner locations. We highly encourage trainees to continue to reach out to alternatives while searching for preceptors for their rotations.
Clinical Rotation Inquiries
To begin this process, please fill out the form and a representative of SAAHEC will follow up with questions. Filling out the inquiry form does not guarantee a rotation at El Rio or at the rural health partner locations.
